Interior Design

For interior designers: the service, the project, rooms, what the design covers, style, budget and timing.

1Overview#

For interior designers and design studios. Clients say which service they want (full design and project management, a design plan, a consultation, styling or e-design), the kind of project, which rooms and how many, what the design should include, the styles they like, their budget, when they'd like to start, the floor area, whether they'll live there during the work, the property and their role, with links to ideas they love and photos of the rooms, a floor plan and a room they love.

Why these questions

  • Budget and service together tell you at once whether the project fits your studio.
  • Which rooms and how many set the design fee.
  • What the design includes (layout, lighting, joinery, 3D visuals) shapes the proposal.
  • Styles and inspiration links let you arrive at the first meeting with ideas.
  • Just exploring is flagged, so you can send a lighter reply and follow up later.

6Pricing your quote#

Price by service: a consultation, a design fee per room, then sourcing and project management.

  • Consultations: a set price, often taken off the design fee.
  • Design: a fee per room, more for 3D visuals and lighting plans.
  • Sourcing: by the hour or a percentage of purchases.
  • Project management: by the week.

These are ways to think about price, not market prices. Use your own costs and local rates.
